George and I met 8 years ago at a party I almost skipped. He held the door for me (I missed it—blame the balloons). My friend reminded me he was the guy she tried to set me up with, and I had said he wasn’t my type. At the bar, I joked, “Single, no kids, good job—what’s wrong with you?” We exchanged numbers, went on a date a week later, went to Canada a month in, a Euro trip 4 months later, moved in at 6 months, and got engaged in Greece a year and a half later.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Our favorite memories are our wedding day—married in my hometown of San Diego, which was so special since we live in Charlotte now—and the birth of our son, Nikos. His delivery was scary, and he spent time in the NICU, but it brought us even closer. It was the hardest yet most beautiful moment of our lives, and we’re so grateful he’s safe and healthy.
What would you do with $20,000?We’d use the $20,000 to update our home—like extending our patio and adding a gazebo—and take our son to Greece for the first time to show him where we got engaged and where my husband’s family is from.
