Connect How did your love story begin?

Carlyn’s first day at the FIRST coffee shop we worked at together was chaotic. An old coworker flooded the whole cafe. Carlyn, two hours late to her first shift showed up ready to clean up immediately. Flash forward two years, a whole friendship and another coffee shop later, our late night shifts became late night conversations about art, religion/cults, and work. 11 pm turned to 3 am. We realized we worked better together in more ways than as coworkers. We fell in love. Became inseparable.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Shortly after falling in love, Carlyn went on a three week trip across the country, and across the world to Europe. While those weeks were filled of anxiety, it was freeing to start off a new journey with space so large and trust that the other will remain there, full of love, it laid a beautiful foundation. Our favorite memory is the night carlyn came home, driving 12 hours straight from the Denver airport, through a blizzard to get to me. We stayed up all night in each others arms.

What would you do with $20,000?

If we had the $20,000, we would use it to open up a cafe of our own. Both of us, with 7+ years of coffee and tea experience (5 of which we have been working together through) are incredibly passionate about the work we do. Not only because coffee and tea are good, but most importantly because cafe’s offer community to any and all who need it. It would be amazing to build a community space of our own and see our dreams come true. We would also of course like to pay off some debt.
