Connect How did your love story begin?

We met organically when I (Sophia) was trying to build a bike by myself outside of my dorm in college, and was miserably failing. Spencer, a lifelong enthusiast of biking, helped me build it piece by piece. He even fitted the bike for me and helped me balance. It was a baby pink beach cruiser that we later named Cupid, as it’s what first brought us together. To thank this total stranger for helping me construct a bike, I treated him to dinner at the local diner! The rest is history.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our first road trip together was a weekend trip to Disneyland in California. We stayed at a cheap motel and spent our days at the parks. We had so much fun running to all the different rides, and particularly nerded out together in Starwars land. Running around like little kids and vulnerably showing each other our inner children was a touching experience that we wouldn’t trade for anything. Spencer even went on rollercoasters and rides with big drops (which he hates) just to make me happy.

What would you do with $20,000?

Spencer hopes to spend the $20,000 making necessary repairs and nest upgrades to our new, adorable home. He wants to use the rest of the funds to travel and experience new cultures, along with making new memories. Personally, I’m hoping for an engagement ring and a dreamy backyard wedding. A girl can dream, right?
