Connect How did your love story begin?

At Lindsay and Sawyer’s NYC wedding, Maddy noticed a cute guy—Sirin, Sawyer’s stepbrother from California. Instantly, the newlyweds began plotting. After a weekend of scheming, shared floorspace, and near-missed moments thanks to Maddy’s nerves, Lindsay and Sawyer warned them: “Make a move tonight or never.” Sirin did. Maddy stayed. Sparks flew, and against all odds—distance, timing—they knew this was something worth chasing. A new love story had just begun.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Just two months in, Maddy joined Sirin’s family vacation to Morocco and Poland. After, they planned a fun-filled week in NYC—but both got sick. Instead of adventures, they spent days curled up in the apartment, watching shows, ordering food, and switching off naps. Sirin bonded with Maddy’s cat, Kookoo, and even when they felt better, they stayed in. It was cozy, real, and full of firsts—including being gross around each other… and not caring one bit.

What would you do with $20,000?

If we won, we’d use the money to begin our next chapter. Sirin lost his home in the California wildfires and didn’t get into local grad schools, leading him to Connecticut—then to NYC with Maddy. Now, we dream of moving to the south of France: Sirin to study ocean engineering, Maddy to pursue art and language. We’ve both longed to return to Europe, and this would help us finally build the peaceful, creative life we’ve been working toward.
