Connect How did your love story begin?

Our paths 1st crossed on Sunday, Jan 30th, 1994, at a mutual friend’s apartment in Everett, WA. I was waiting for a ride back to college, & he had come by to hang out with his friend. I was holding up their plans, & neither of us gave the other much thought at the time. But life had other plans—our paths kept crossing, thanks to a circle of mutual friends. I was dating someone then, so romance wasn’t on the table, but we grew close and quickly became best friends, inseparable from that point on.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

One of my favorite memories was helping plan a surprise trip to Reno, NV, after he won Employee of the Year. His company let me organize everything—flights, hotel, car rental, even his time off. I was so proud of him and his dedication. He’s always put family first without question. The best part? I surprised him by showing up at the award ceremony. He was shocked, and we had an amazing time. I truly felt blessed to share that moment with him.

What would you do with $20,000?

Winning $20,000 would be a humbling blessing. We currently share one car that's barely running and needs $3,000 in repairs. I’m starting a new career as a real estate agent, and a second car is essential for my success. This gift would change our lives. We’d also give back to our church and the local non-profits that supported us during nearly three years of homelessness. Their help meant the world to us, and we’d love to pay it forward.
