We met on a dating app and went to breakfast for our first date. Our second “date” we spent the entire weekend together. By our third date we knew this was it! We tied the knot 3 months after meeting on a snowy Lake Tahoe beach. When our family and friends saw us together they understood we are just two pieces of the same heart, they didn’t skip a beat to support and celebrate us! When asked why not wait, we said “it’s going to make a great story for the kids someday!”

One of our favorite memories was when we took a week off of work to go to LA & get a tattoo. With no other plans, we took our time driving back up the coast for a few days. We stayed in a romantic air bnb on a small winery, slept a few hours at a truck stop, saw some friends, ate great food, stopped in Solvang & San Luis Obispo, sang in the car at the top of our lungs, & laughed until our cheeks hurt. We finally wrapped up with our annual summer family get together!

We are in the process of adopting a child through open adoption. Danie and her brother were adopted through the same process. So when we had an extraordinarily traumatic pregnancy loss and subsequent infertility, we felt in our hearts that it was the perfect sign to move forward with adoption. The money would go directly toward adoption fees and if anything is left over, it will go into our child’s savings account.
