Connect How did your love story begin?

My first wife and I lost our oldest child - she asked for a divorce in 2017 - too much anger and pain. I wanted to find a friend ... not a relationship but a friendship that might develop. I found Kris on the internet. Kris was a teacher and loved kids. I reached out and a week later she asked for help to create a movie for her class. The movie was huge in size - I proposed a dinner to give her the video - and the rest is history. We married in 2018 - we are soulmates!

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

So many great memories. Our first date was amazing - we hit it off like old friends. At the end of dinner, I went to the restroom - when I got back, she had paid the bill. I was stunned – she bought me dinner. We went to leave and I was going to kiss her but she moved and I ended up kissing her on her ear. Strange. Old fashioned girl I thought. Later I found out that Kris’s nachos were made with lots of stinky onions … and that was the reason she turned her face. We still laugh about this.

What would you do with $20,000?

With $20,000, Kris and I would take a dream trip—maybe Japan for cherry blossoms or Australia to see kangaroos or France for wine and art. We'd splurge on great food, stay in charming places, and make unforgettable memories. Maybe set some aside for a shared goal or surprise gift—something lasting beyond the trip.
