How did your love story begin?

We met through a mutual friend on 7/3/2015 at a hot tub party. We both knew from that moment, we had found our person for life. We lived in separate states but that didn’t keep us apart, didn’t keep the feelings or the deep love we have for each other suffer secondary to distance. 3 yrs into our long distance relationship, Jeff was in a terrible motorcycle accident which rendered him a T7-8 paraplegic. Through all the rehab we stayed strong for each other. 7 yrs later we are happily married.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

To pick a favorite memory is hard because we have shared so many beautiful memories. I believe the top of the cake was our wedding in our backyard with 80 friends and family. We spoke our own vows from our hearts. We had friends playing live music, we had a friend make the cake, we had a friend perform the ceremony. We had family take the photos. We had friends help with the menu and serving food. We had family stand up with us. We felt all the love from so many that made our day so special

What would you do with $20,000?

Being paralyzed is very expensive. From supplies for daily life, adaptions to the home and wheelchairs for mobility. As Jeff gets older and weaker, transferring from WC to our stair chair is becoming increasingly difficult and safety issues have increased. We would put the money towards an indoor elevator so he can get to the downstairs safely in his chair, enjoy the outdoors on the patio and continue to thrive, socialize and BBQ with our friends and our puppies in his favorite spot.
