Connect How did your love story begin?

Bumble! Rachel’s profile was so perfect that Nate thought she was a 600lb catfish in a bunker. His only shot? Humor. Weeks of banter led to a date at Starbucks, followed by a walk through Central Park (Rachel got serious serial killer vibes but went along anyway!). Worth the risk - he sang Elvis to her in the moonlight. The next week, Nate was all in. Rachel told him the following week that she thought they were soulmates; Nate had bought a gift the day before. A mug defining “soulmate”!

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We were daydreaming about our lives and asked each other what the future looked like in our fantasies. Nate said he wanted to travel the world with Rei and democratize education and access to mental health - to connect the world through art and storytelling. Rei’s fantasy was to travel the world with Nate and bring better healthcare options to third world communities. Our lives just came together in that moment. Every day we live that mission together as best friends and soulmates.

What would you do with $20,000?

Nate is in nonprofit and works with some of the most underserved kids in the nation. He focuses on social emotional learning and technology. Rachel is a medical researcher and develops life-saving technologies. Our ultimate life goal is to travel the world to impoverished communities and empower them with music, technology, healthcare, and sustainable resources. We’ve already started, and this would be oxygen to the fire.
