⸻ We’d crossed paths in college like two extras in each other’s sitcoms—always nearby, never the punchline. Then one fateful Wednesday, I spotted Lukus mid–Golden Tee game and led with my strongest move: a well-timed insult. “You suck at this game,” I said. Shockingly, he didn’t cry—he laughed. We started talking, and somehow that sarcastic spark kicked off a story neither of us saw coming.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Our favorite memory is the moment he proposed. Lukus got down on one knee with a cherry Ring Pop and a tag that read “forever” attached. It was a perfect connection to a poem I’d written that said, “All I need is a cherry Ring Pop and the promise of forever.” I’d written that poem years before but he knew what it meant to me. And of course, he followed the proposal with the real ring, but honestly? That sticky, red candy is still one of my favorite things he’s ever given me.
What would you do with $20,000?With $20,000, we’d start building the life we’ve been dreaming of…a home to call our own and a foundation for our future family. As we prepare for marriage, we’re focused on creating a space filled with love, laughter, and room to grow. Also, $20,000 could buy an awful lot of Ring Pops ;)
