Connect How did your love story begin?

Sam and Abigail's story begins on the football field at Wingate University, where our paths first crossed. Abigail just finished cheering for the game, while Sam was playing football. The pivotal moment that brought them together occurred when Abigail's father, recognized Sam's father. Both of their father's were seasoned pilots, having flown together for over 30 years at Piedmont and American. Abigail remembers growing up seeing pictures of Sam after their dad's flew a trip together.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

One of the sweetest moments was Sam playing guitar and singing Landslide for the Father/Daughter Dance at our wedding. That night, we accidentally fell off the back of our getaway car! Thankfully, we weren't seriously hurt, but we spent our wedding night in the hospital. It turned into a favorite memory-we laughed, cared for each other, and felt so lucky to be okay. Our love grew even stronger that night. We made the most of our honeymoon in Myrtle Beach and cherished every moment.

What would you do with $20,000?

We planned to use part of the funds for our honeymoon. Unfortunately, we were unable to go due to an accident on the night of our wedding. We are currently searching for a home to grow our family and would allocate a portion of the money toward that goal. Additionally, we intend to donate a portion to aviation programs that support students who otherwise couldn't afford the opportunity as aviation holds a very special place in our hearts.
