Connect How did your love story begin?

In 2000 we met as street kids in downtown Ptld. Always looked out for each other. Had lots of trials/tribulations but he believed in me. Encouraged me to go to beauty school & got my licenses. We found our way off the street. Supported me through caring for my dad w/cancer (I was his sole caregiver for 3 years until he passed). Grief broke me but he was there. I’ve been diagnosed w/incurable cancer & he’s still by my side the best dad to our special needs son. I couldn’t ask for anything better.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Having our son. Due to cancer we didn’t know until I was 31wks(then he came at 36)a cancer P.E.T scan found him! I had multiple blood draw’s & surgery. Nothing showed I was pregnant the scan results were a huge shock. Drs told us carrying a child with my cancer could kill me or the baby or both so we weren’t planning on having a child. All the radiation & medications affected our son badly in utero. He’s special needs has developmental delays & disabilities. Ricky is the best dad ever.

What would you do with $20,000?

Pay our bills were always struggling to pay due to trying to survive on single ssi income & grant our boys the wish of a family vacation to a theme park so they can have those memories for when I pass. I’ve already surpassed my life expectancy so I’m on borrowed time. Every extra day is a blessing but I would be so happy to be able to make amazing memories while I’m still here.
