Connect How did your love story begin?

It began at a coffee shop. We were coworkers who bonded with each other over our mutual love for making music and coffee. We decided to hang out one evening and realized that we had so much in common, specifically our life philosophies and world views. We talked for hours in an IHOP and got to learn about each other in a deeper way. We talked about the past, what we envisioned for our own futures and made jokes in between. When I got home I knew that I wanted to do life with Ruben by my side.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

My favorite memory I have with Ruben is our second date. We decided to go out to sing karaoke and dance. It was an amazing time, but the memory that stood out happened after we left the bars and went to a park to hang out. We got on the bed of his truck and he asked me to slow dance with him. We stood up, he put on a song and we danced. This was also the moment we shared our first kiss with each other. Every time I hear the song he put on I get the same butterflies I felt that night.

What would you do with $20,000?

We would invest in our entrepreneurial endeavors. Ruben is opening his own coffee shop and having extra funding would allow him to grow his business and reach a wider audience. I am a classical musician. I would invest in my equipment and education in order to gain more experience and open more opportunities to perform and make connections.
