Against all odds and multiple oceans we found each other. Throughout all the past traumas that got us here we built the foundations to love.
We would like to thank you for supporting Ron and Egle in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
Like all modern love stories, we met on Facebook. We were both in transitional periods in our lives. She was on the move to Vietnam and I just quit my job and galavanted around Europe. From the moment I randomly replied to a post she made, I could only envision a future with her and no one else. Fast forward a few months, she’s here and all eternity to come.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?During our honeymoon, we went back to her home country of Lithuania. She hasn’t been there in more than a decade. I loved seeing her light up as she recalled all the stupid, yet charming and sometimes somber memories she had in her home town. The glow in her eyes, the excitement in her voice, and the clenching hands. I could do nothing but fall for the city that bore my wife.
What would you do with $20,000?It hasn’t been the kindest year financially. I would want nothing more than to give my wife the life she’s always dreamed of. We’re tired. Tired of the uncertainty. Tired of the worry of her possibly have to leave. Tired of the financial constraints. After we pay off the legal fees of immigration, we want to save up and have the dream wedding fitting for my queen, at a castle in Lithuania. I want her mother to see (she’s in a hospital) that she’s taken care of and she’ll be okay with me.
