How did your love story begin?

Our love story began at a local fire house — he was resting his feet from hiking the Appalachian Trail, and I was a struggling single mom just trying to catch my breath after losing a pet. We struck up a conversation that never really ended. What started as an unexpected connection turned into 13 years of friendship, laughter, loyalty, and love. We’ve grown side by side ever since — still cheering each other on, still choosing each other every day.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Rocco came into our lives when my son was just 7, and over the years, he became the steady, loving presence we both needed. Last year, we stood side by side as we watched my son leave for Navy boot camp — proud, emotional, and holding each other through every second. It wasn’t just a milestone for my son, but for us as a couple. We had raised a strong young man together, and in that moment, we knew we had done something truly right.

What would you do with $20,000?

We would use $15K for a food truck. We’d love to serve good food, live simply, and pour back into the land that shaped our story. The remainder we would use to give back to the Appalachian Trail and environmental causes — the trail brought us together, and we want to protect it for future adventurers. Giving back and growing something meaningful — that’s the dream.
