Connect How did your love story begin?

I met Roberto in 1999, in 2000 Roberto joined the NAVY. We got married in 2001 and found out we were having a baby on 9/10/01. On 9/11/01 we all know what happened. He was not here for the birth of our first son as he was on active duty during wartime. We wrote to each other every day. We moved to CA and started our military life there from 02-05. We have been through it all with his war PTSD, anxiety, and depression. I never left his side! Never above him, never below him ALWAYS beside him!

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

My favorite memory is our love letter writing during his time in the US NAVY. We wrote each other every day-real letters not email or social media. I also remember his face after returning on his ship the USS McClusky when he saw me standing on the pier. When he came off the boat his eyes filled with tears and he hugged me so tight and thanked me for writing him everyday and standing by his side.

What would you do with $20,000?

If we won the $20,000 I would put a down payment on a house in Florida because we have never been able to save due to his mental health issues after the war and not being able to hold down a job for a long period of time. I have always worked more than one job to be sure our two sons and my husband were taken care of. I don't mind because I need to make sure my family is taken care of. I only wish we could own our own home one day.
