I met Bob on April 1, 1977. His BA secretary & I had a joint paper that had to be postmarked that day w/a OU Law Paralegal class. I worked w/a Tulsa law firm & Babs refused to drive in downtown Tulsa. It was not love at first sight. I was an exhausted single mom w/3 young boys, working two jobs w/college classes & he was a bachelor w/no children. We still have not decided who was the April Fool that blustery spring day.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? The year of a full moon on Christmas 1977. There was something astoundingly magical about our first Christmas together. I was a single mom w/3 young boys. I was beyond worried about how I would ever get their Christmas out of layaway, at Otasco w/child support late or non existent. Bob shows up dressed in a Santa hat, work suit & camel overcoat. He saved the day w/all of the meager layaway wrapped w/tags on contents & many more gifts including a Lionel Train set to go around the tree.
What would you do with $20,000?Bob had Leimosarcoma cancer 13 yrs ago. He now has accute ALL Leukemia cancer to fight. I have Lupus. He practiced law for 58 years helping many underserved families. I have a PhD & also helped many families & students over 45 years. We desperately need to make repairs to our home, so we can downsize.
