Lori and I are both widows and we lost our spouses to the same cancer. We connected one night with a bond that’s unexplainable.
We would like to thank you for supporting Rob and Lori in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
Lori lost her husband to pancreatic cancer in 2018. In 2022, Rob’s wife faced the same cruel fate and passed in 2023. As neighbors, Lori stood beside him with quiet strength. In shared sorrow, we found solace—walking, talking, watching life unfold on screen and in each other. What began as friendship blossomed gently into love, a bond born of loss, healing, and time.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? We've shared so many unforgettable moments, but nothing compares to our most recent adventure. We escaped to a cozy cabin in rural West Virginia, where time slowed and everything felt magical. We savored home-cooked meals, lingered over bottles of wine, and braved a rainy, soul-stirring hike. But the true highlight? We arrived as two people in love—and left as an engaged couple, hearts full and forever changed.
What would you do with $20,000?As we begin planning our future together, we’re taking the next big step—selling our individual homes to find a place that’s truly ours, where our families can grow and new memories can bloom. Part of the proceeds will go toward preparing our homes for sale, but the rest will help us embark on the honeymoon of our dreams: a cruise to exotic destinations, filled with adventure, wonder, and unforgettable moments shared side by side.
