We grew up orbiting each other. Ricky visited my babysitter when I was five and he was seven. One Fall day in 2001, he opened the door to me knocking at a friend’s apartment. When our lips met, time seemed to pause. Friends pulled me away, but the spark stayed imprinted. Looking back, we call it our first kiss. With $20,000, we’d explore California’s redwoods, relax on sunlit beaches and soak up LA’s iconic sights from the Hollywood Sign to the Santa Monica Pier.
