He was in the military, and we met on the other side of the world. We got engaged, but things fell apart and life took us in different directions. After 30 years, love pulled us back together and it felt like coming home. We are so grateful for our second chance. Life is so short and when that reality stares you both in the face each day, your heart is filled with both gratitude & fear. It’s never too late for love, and this chapter feels like the one we were always meant to write.

We hadn’t seen each other in decades, and our favorite memory is that first reunion in Dallas. We met at the airport, hugged like no time had passed, and spent the weekend reminiscing, laughing, and falling right back into step. That trip changed everything. We didn’t know what was next—just that we wouldn’t lose each other again. Sometimes you have to jump in, because you know in your heart that’s where you’re meant to be.

Him: “I want to take my wife somewhere special because she deserves it. I want to keep making memories together that will be with us forever.” Her: “I want us to be able to explore integrative cancer therapies for my husband (fighting lung cancer) so that we can do everything possible to keep our happily ever after going.
