Beach party. We pinky promised to never date each other. He was sunburned, loud, and not my type. Turns out, we’re terrible at pinky promises. 😂 Now we’ve got a blended family, three kids, a grandson, and a life full of love and laughter. We turned “this’ll never work” into a marriage that’s still going strong. We started Brighter Marriage, a nonprofit to help other couples do the same-because every great love story deserves a second chance.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?The first time we stepped on a stage together and realized our story and our humor-could actually help couples. We didn’t start off as a “great couple.” We were a hot mess with good intentions. Teaching marriage class at church, we tried to look polished until we got real. That honesty gave others hope-and gave us purpose. Now we share our story through stand-up across the U.S. Proof that love, grace, and laughter can rewrite a whole story.
What would you do with $20,000?If we won, we’d use the $20,000 to host a marriage retreat/conference full of laughter, real talk, and tools to help couples reconnect. We’d create a space where people feel seen, hope gets stirred, and love gets stronger. It wouldn’t just be another event it’d be the start of something meaningful, grounded in faith and passion to help couples realize their love is worth fighting for!
