As single parents, we fell in love. We have devoted our love & lives to each other & to our children. Each day is a blessing & an adventure.
We would like to thank you for supporting Richard and Jessica Drake in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
Our love story began as we met each other through our daughters. They met and became fast friends. They were both in girl scouts, and one day at pickup we met and both felt a spark. We chatted for a few months, arranged outings and playdates for our daughters, before going on our first date. On that date, he kissed me passionately and that's when I knew I was his.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?About a month before our wedding we took a road trip to NY (from Chicago) to visit Jessica's family for Thanksgiving. This was our first road trip with our 3 children, and it was a blast! We stopped at Niagara Falls on the way there, then battled a blizzard on the way back. This trip confirmed the strength of our new blended family.
What would you do with $20,000?We would use it to buy a car that would be a better fit for our new family of five. Both of our current cars lack enough space for us to go on long drives comfortably.
