How did your love story begin?

We met when we were 12 and on my 13th birthday, He gave me a necklace with a heart and had my name engraved and my first kiss. Well we parted ways and some 17 years later we found our way back to each other. He was divorced then with two young children. He had me over for dinner. I showed him that I still had my necklace and that was it. Instant family. We married a year later had three more children. We have five grandchildren and we are about to celebrate our 30th anniversary this August.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our favorite memory is a sad one, but ended joyous. Rich had open heart surgery during Covid and I could not go in with him. He was so scared. I had to drop him off at the door. As he began to walk into the hospital he stopped and turned back. He asked to pray, we held hands and said a prayer something we’ve never done before. I couldn’t even visit after. His surgery was a success praise God. That was my memory. I asked him and that was also his. We’ve had so many but that stuck with us both.

What would you do with $20,000?

Besides, trying to pay down some bills, we would have a huge family vacation with all our kids and grandkids. I think we have taught them all the biggest life lesson of what is unconditional love! And a family vacation together is what we’d love.
