In 2012, I dreamed of a man going to Alaska who invited me along. When I woke, I couldn’t shake it—so I went. Within 10 minutes of arriving, I met Miguel in the breakroom. We had lunch, took a walk, and were inseparable ever since. I couldn’t believe he was real. He was the kindest man I’d ever met—intelligent, hardworking, and creative. Two weeks later, I wrote him a letter saying I knew he was “the one.” I gave it to him on our wedding day.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?We married on our 10th anniversary, in the town where we met—Cordova, AK. We dressed as penguins and decorated our ceremony with items we found in stores along the way. We revisited the places where we fell in love. The sun came out just for us, and locals helped make it happen: officiating, witnessing, photographing, celebrating. I gave him the letter I’d written in 2012. It was magical.
What would you do with $20,000?$20k would cover our mortgage for a year, freeing us to grow our lives. Miguel supports emerging bands with a safe creative space. I’m rooted in the local theatre scene and travel as a flight attendant—this would expand my reach as a performer. We’d also upgrade our car, since we both lost ours in accidents last year. And there’s a local cat we hope to adopt. This support would help us improve our home and fill it with even more love.
