We are both trans non-binary, and we met on Bumble! We tried so hard not to fall in love, but loving Ani is the easiest thing I’ve done.
We would like to thank you for supporting Persie & Ani in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
We matched on Bumble. Ani had broken their ankle and was on temporary leave of work, bored. I was in the midst of a divorce, navigating being a single parent and getting back into the workforce after being stay at home for years. Neither of us were expecting anything more than a quick summer fling, and we even took some time apart to date other people. But, we missed each other. One coffee date to catchup and we have been together-together ever since!
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? We have done a lot of really cool things together; organizing music events to fundraise for our local LGBTQIA+ community, going out dancing, moving in together… but my favorite moments are when we are doing simple things. Waking up together, helping one another through hard days, holding hands, making food together… the day to day being easier and happier, knowing I get to come home to Ani and my daughter.
What would you do with $20,000?Ani deserves access to gender confirming medical care, and my daughter deserves nice things. I’d want to split the proceeds between the 3 of us, in our little family unit, to put towards having better opportunities. Money in savings account for schooling for my daughter. I would probably invest my portion into fixing up our house a bit- definitely could use a washer/dryer unit so I don’t have to use the laundromat anymore. This money could do so much good for our family, honestly.
