Paul and Martha met their senior year at Penn State. Martha was wearing a blue and white boa at an on-campus event. Martha definitely caught Paul's eye! After a night on the town, Paul and Martha kissed for the first time on January 16, 2002 - their official start to dating! They dated just a few months before Martha graduated. Paul had one more semester. They traveled over 5 hours each way to see each other almost every weekend in a 2-door, manual Civic and an '84 Firebird.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Martha and Paul knew they were meant for each other when they drove to Florida from Pennsylvania for a Penn State Bowl Game. After only a few months of dating, the long road trip (in the 2-door Civic) was filled with lots of country and Irish folk music, sharing, and discussions about their shared future. Paul took Martha to Disney World for the first time ever on that special trip. To this day, they love taking road trips with their daughters.
What would you do with $20,000?In 2010, Martha and Paul welcomed identical twin girls, Claire and Mary, at 23 weeks and 5 days - extremely premature. Mary passed away after 14 days. Claire beat the odds coming home after 103 days in the NICU .She will turn 15 this year! During their NICU journey, they recognized a gap in care and founded a non-profit, Today is a Good Day, to support other families going through the NICU. $20,000 will help to support the mission providing hope and building community for NICU families.
