We started talking online and made plans to meet at the beach. Wes waited in the cold with a drizzle while Omani looked for parking. Two hours later (!!!) it was an instant connection, and love at first sight. The way conversation flowed, laughter was shared, and the occasional blushing- we were both head over heels. (Omani was then an hour and a half late to the second date - she ended up getting it together. She’s grateful he’s a really patient guy.) Wes thinks ever second was worth it.

On our way home from a roadtrip we stopped in Michigan. It was late, we were both exhausted, so we booked the closest and cheapest hotel we could find. They say you get what you pay for - our room had a cardboard window, mold - it was just a disaster. While trying to sort out a new room we met one “interesting” resident and another who had threatened us. We ditched the room and dished out extra money for something better and it so much more worth it. A story we’ll share with the kids for sure!

With both of us being transgender and queer- planning a wedding can be hard. Trying to find the right place, most importantly a safe place. The world is a very difficult place to navigate right now- especially for us and all we could ask for is a beautiful wedding to remind us how beautiful queer love is. So the funds would go directly to making a long time dream for both of us come true.
