We first met at our University’s orientation and spent the rest of the day together. After that, we rarely saw each other. Eventually, a year later, we came to meet again at a school pride event. Marly was struggling in two separate situation-ships, and asked Nickey for advice. Now, whenever we had something to talk about. One day, we were stuck together somewhere for hours and ended up at Nickey’s place to watch a movie. We cracked out the Vodka, realized our chemistry, and left the friendzone.

Our favorite memory taught us how much love we can give to each other. Marly struggles with Trichotillomania, and it became pretty severe last December to February. Half of Marly’s hair was gone, so we decided the best option was to shave her entire head for a new start. It was one of the hardest things both of us have had to do, as her past-shoulder length hair was so important to her. We both learned so much in that moment about each other, and about how much love and support we can receive.

We would use this money to continue producing queer films. This amount would be incredible to make our next project happen. As queer artists, our goal is to give voices to queer people in place of support. We are going to make films about queer people by queer people, to create more community and allies while giving voices to those who have been silenced. This is incredible important always, but now during these times even more than ever.
