We met on Twitter sharing recipes, inspiration, and the love of food in each other’s DMs. My (Alyssa) culinary journey led me to Chicago from Detroit, where my now fiancé (Nick) was born and raised. We hit it off just a few days after my move, and have been inseparable ever since. We’re now going on five years, working at three different restaurants together. Myself as Pastry Chef, and Nick as Sous Chef at SheWolf in Detroit. Food is where it all began for us, and continues to drive us forward!

Our most memorable moments are fueled by spontaneity! Whether it’s the day of decision of a 7 hour drive to Deluth to see the Northern Lights, going where the wind takes us on our drives from Detroit to Chicago and back, or traveling all around Hawaii with no plan in sight. The moments we don’t plan for always end up being our favorites. Stumbling across fun in places unknown to us. If there’s a path unbeaten, we’ll be sure to take it!

Our dream from the very beginning has always been to open our own restaurant. Our passion in food roots in our attachment to heritage. Nick being raised by Polish immigrants, and Alyssa Italian. The kitchen has always been our home. To have a space where we can share our love with those who just want a taste of family, is the ultimate life goal. $20,000 would be a life changing amount, and would get us closer to achieving this accomplishment, sharing love and comfort in the forms of food.
