We met in an English class, I finishing my degree; he, earning a teaching certificate. I was engaged then, but we always found our way to each other for partner work. During student teaching, he glanced at my ring and said, “Well, that figures", and a seed was planted. A few months later, after my engagement ended, we ran into each other at a gas station and bonded over our dogs—his a yellow lab, mine a black one. And just like that, the real story began.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?My favorite memory isn’t just one, it’s the symphony of 26 years together. From raising two incredible daughters to caring for my mother in her final days, Daren has been my partner in every note. Our love is layered in laughter, loss, and deep connection. To pull out a single moment would be to unravel the beauty of the whole.
What would you do with $20,000?If we won, we’d fulfill a dream: sailing for a week on a crewed catamaran off the coast of Greece with our family and my brother’s. Time together, unplugged and surrounded by beauty, would be the greatest gifts: sunsets, laughter, and connection on the open sea.
