Connect How did your love story begin?

We worked together at a tech company and for Kevin it was love at first sight, but Jasmine was all about her paycheck. Kevin slowly charmed Jasmine with his kindness. One night they were working outdoors in the cold and Jasmine forgot her jacket. Kevin politely offered his jacket to her. Her being a Southern woman, this simple act of kindness stuck with her. A month later, he finally worked up the courage to officially ask her out.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We always come up with unique, socially relevant, and funny Halloween costumes because Halloween is our favorite holiday together. In 2021, we put in lots of effort into costumes based on the Rap Roundtable SNL skit. It was fun to put together the costumes, find the wigs and clothing, and it all came together. We spent the night running around Little Tokyo yelling “yeet skrrt” and so many people laughed because they recognized these iconic characters.

What would you do with $20,000?

We would put the money towards a down payment on a house since we currently work from home and our current situation involves living with roommates. Kevin was let go from his job as an agricultural officer because of DOGE and that has derailed our plans for the future. This has forced us to pivot into a new career where we’re educating people online in a fun way about plants. We’re just craving independence in a space that’s ours and we’ve been talking about home ownership for 5 years.
