Of all the incredible things we get to work on together as artists, life is the greatest project we get to collaborate on
We would like to thank you for supporting Milo & Kenzi in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
Milo was performing at a party at an art gallery. I was new to California, having fled from the East with my bag of dark clothes and the pieces of my broken heart. At the event we were asked to create some intention candles by carving our desires into the wax. As a New Yorker, this new age jargon was foreign to me but I lowered my inhibitions and whispered my wish for true and honest love to find me into the flame. Milo drove me home after the party and the rest is history.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? At the beginning of the year, we travelled to Mexico to visit Milo’s distant family in Jalisco and got stranded in a rural area without cell service or transportation. By chance we met some guys outside a gas station that waved us over. Neither of us speak Spanish, but one of them asked in broken English to “play hotel California”, after seeing Milo’s guitar. We did. One of them was a musician too, and the two of them communicated through music. Thanks to them we found our way back.
What would you do with $20,000?As vibrant as our lives can be, it can be hard to save up for the future as independent artists. $20,000 would be an incredible way to seed our future dream of starting a music school.
