Connect How did your love story begin?

Lacy and I met in college, we were both studying theatre at Towson, but never really talked. Once, Lacy was reading a poster and I came over to read it just to be around her, but we were both too nervous to talk. One afternoon in 2009 we both were waiting in the hall, alone, together. She got up to get some water and I said, “Lacy, right?” And she said, “How’d you know?” I responded, “well I have ears and people have said it.” Embarrassing, but thankfully she laughed and took a chance on me.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

In 2017 Lacy and I were both hired to be a part of the National Touring Company of BUDDY: THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY. Lacy, as company manager, and myself as Buddy Holly. We got to spend over 7 months working together and performing all over N. America together and experiencing some of the most beautiful, strange, and exciting corners of this continent. The moment that sticks out the most was a ferry from mainland Vancouver to Nanaimo for a show. At 5am we stood on the deck and watched the sunrise.

What would you do with $20,000?

We’re finally in a place in our life where our dream careers are starting to take shape. I’m getting theatre roles consistently in the DMV and Lacy is working her way up at a non-profit and together we are working on a family. Hard work has paid off but as we all know well, the times they are expensive…BUT this money would set us up for success, and help to ensure we had a nice starting point in finding a 3 bedroom home to prepare for having a family together!
