How did your love story begin?

We met on a random Monday night at a dive bar. My friend actually met him first— knowing I dabble with piano & sing, she called me over telling me she met a guy who also plays music. Him & I talked about our love for music, our favorite artists, and shows coming up. I mentioned there was a candlelight Fleetwood Mac concert on that Friday, & he told me he would love to take me. He bought the tickets, and our love story began in a candlelit room with a symphony paying homage to Fleetwood Mac.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Pretty early on in dating, we planned a camping trip in Canada. We gathered all of the supplies from REI, packed two coolers, loaded the car, & set way. On our drive, we listened to our favorite albums & picked up flowers and wood on the side of the road. Once we set up our campsite, we cooked all of our meals over the fire, sang songs while he played guitar, swam, hiked, stargazed, & really just fell deeply in love. Camping puts a test on any relationship, & we passed with flying colors.

What would you do with $20,000?

We’re currently in a long distance relationship. I moved from Michigan to California to pursue my career, and his band is based in Detroit. We make an effort to see each other every month, and have not gone longer than 6 weeks apart. We would put this money toward a celebratory trip together, and save the rest for future travel to see each other. I could see us doing a badass camping trip up the coast of California! Overall, we would use this money to create moments to strengthen our love.
