I was newly out, still finding my way, when a chance meeting at a women’s music festival brought us together. Through a friend and a shared concert night, Michele and I connected in a way that felt immediate and deep. In that moment, despite uncertainty and struggle, we both knew this was the start of something bigger—something that would grow into a love and partnership beyond anything we’d imagined.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?It’s hard to pick one—after 15 years, so many memories. From simple walks at the farmer’s market with our boys to a trip to London early in our relationship, even conflicts became moments that deepened us. What I treasure most are the everyday moments—the laughter, the challenges, and how we face life together as a family, growing stronger and closer with each experience.
What would you do with $20,000?Moving to Portland has been a struggle financially, so part of the prize would go toward building a savings cushion. But we’d also celebrate our life—maybe a trip with our twins, who dream of Japan, or a getaway for Michele and me to Ireland. Whether a small local trip or a bigger adventure, we’d savor the time together while being mindful and responsible with the rest.
