Connect How did your love story begin?

We met on the island of Oahu, I was visiting my brother in the army and he was a Marine living across the island. After our first date we spent 57 hours together in a little over a week. About 3 weeks later, the day I was getting on a plane to leave, he called my dad for my hand, we picked out a ring and I flew home. I flew back months later and we got married, just us, my mom and brother. 5 years later, 3 moves, and 3 kids and we are still madly in love and best friends.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

It’s hard to choose which memory is our favorite, although bringing our children into this world cannot be topped, that’s a parents memory. A memory that was just us that we reminisce often over is our second date. It was the day after our first date and we went zip lining in Kahuku, HI. It was the most thrilling adventure and we sheepishly held hands the whole day. It was magical.

What would you do with $20,000?

It would probably go towards buying our first home. Michael was in the Marine Corps when we met and since we’ve been out, we’ve been bouncing from home to home and now we live in an apartment with 3 kids outside of San Antonio, TX. A home where we can mark our kids heights on the wall, that is the dream. Michael is a college student now, to be an engineer. So it will be a while before we could realistically make that dream a reality.
