The day that we decided we were going to give up searching, we both swiped right, unknowingly on each other. She messaged just one word “where” to which I responded touché. Our two hearts destined to find each other during unfortunate times like a bumblebee finds a flower after a hurricane passes. Just one word “where” became the beginning of our beautiful crazy love story.

Everyone wants that perfect first date. A fancy restaurant, romantic ambience; the reservations were made. We left unsatisfied. My then first date, my now wife said “I would be happy eating a juicy burger.” Off to a local dive bar we went. We sipped rum n cokes, enjoyed music, played cornhole around a bonfire. The end of the night came, a song came on, the lyrics spoke to us:“Sometimes you gotta kiss somebody”. We locked eyes; I grabbed her chair, pulled her in close, we shared our first kiss!

In life we tend to prioritize the needs and wants of others, leaving little room for us. I saw this opportunity, I thought about my wife, how special she is. I thought of two things: this one special ring. And she dreams of a fairy wedding. When I spoke with her, she said I’d want the fairy wedding and a honeymoon. Yes, we could pay a debt or two. But life is too short and the memories we make together will be the special moments that are remembered by our family and friends.
