Connect How did your love story begin?

After both spending a decade in Houston and even attending the University of Houston, our paths never crossed—not once. It’s wild to think how close we were, yet how long it took for the universe to bring us together. But when it finally did (Feb 2024) —through a little help from the internet. We didn’t rush. We moved gently, intentionally. For months, we went on simple dates—just skating side by side through the streets of Houston, talking for hours & laughing.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

That March, we took a spring river trip—just the two of us—down the Guadalupe. No distractions, no expectations. Just sun, water, and time. Somewhere between floating beneath the trees, laughing until our cheeks hurt, sneaking kisses in the quiet stretches of river, and cooking for each other by the fire, something shifted. Something deep. We didn’t say the words yet, but we felt it. So did everyone else. A group of older couples we met that weekend asked us if we were on our honey moon.

What would you do with $20,000?

We’ve just taken a huge step together, we bought our first home. It was a dream come true, but just weeks later, I lost my job. It shook us. But instead of falling apart, we leaned into each other. The tough moments didn’t push us away—they pulled us closer. We’ve cried, laughed, problem-solved. This win would mean so much more than financial relief. It would help us find our footing again.
