Justin and Meg met at a Friendsgiving in 2021. Meg made her famous “yam bake” (with sweet potatoes), and he teased her nonstop. Meg thought he was annoying; Justin thought she was a hippie who couldn’t tell tubers apart. After months of saying no to friends nudging her to date Justin, Meg invited him on a hike (NOT a date). His kindness, adventurous spirit, and humor soon won her over, and the rest is history.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Meg once took Justin on a full moon hike—leaving at 1:30 am, driving two hours, and climbing a 5,500' mountain in the dark to watch the sunrise. He grumbled the whole way, but even he admits it was unforgettable. On the way home, Meg joked it was “like that country song where he goes so crazy he jumps off a mountain…” Justin replied, “You mean EVERY country song?” Now, when “Can’t You See” by the Marshall Tucker Band plays, they laugh at the memory.
What would you do with $20,000?Meg was recently diagnosed with Bertolotti's syndrome, which has made it painful to enjoy the outdoor hobbies and job she loves. The money would help cover treatments like physical therapy and possible spinal surgery—giving her the chance to do more of what she enjoys with less pain—and hopefully drag Justin on more full moon hikes in the mountains!
