Max and I met on OK Cupid. He sent me a message and I thought he was a bot because he used a headshot but it didn’t stop me from replying back. Turned out he was real! We met up for dinner and a drinks, where he talked a lot and was loud, so a little intimidating. I got a second date booked though since I had not seen Frozen 1 (2014) and Max is a big Disney fan. Alas Frozen was not meant to be since it was out of theaters but later in Halloween we dressed up as the Frozen cast.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?2020 was a weird year for many obvious reasons, but Max also got laid off from Disney Studios at the time so life was stressful. That March birthday to keep things happy we brought Hawaii into the home decorating the condo to celebrate. Hawaii is special to us since we got engaged in Kauai and later married on the beach in Oahu. In the darkness that was 2020, Tasting History, Max’s food history YouTube channel was also born in our little kitchen in isolation, just us and the cats.
What would you do with $20,000?People are facing uncertainty during the current administration, so I want to donate half to help families impacted by ICE and also NCLR who helped me fund my DACA application back in 2013. They support LGBTQIA+ causes and their support with DACA pulled me out of the pit of helplessness. The rest would go to fund my gardening habit and savings. Maybe a weekend trip to Solvang or Santa Barbara too.
