We use humor to get us through tough times. Joe has Parkinson’s-we support each other through good and bad and always put our kids first.
You decide who wins $20,000 and appears in Variety magazine as America’s Favorite Couple
Joe was in a pre-seminary program at Notre Dame, and my good friend was in the program. I went over for dinner and he and I talked and talked. Our first date was seeing The Grinch Who Stole Christmas and he sang Christmas songs under my dorm window. We both liked and could quote Disney and Cary Grant movies and had a movie marathon. We dated on and off, and his senior year he left the program.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? We love being parents, and Joe worked three jobs at times so I could stay home with them. Watching them grow into the adults they are today is our greatest joy. Our daughter loves books, so we would go to book conventions, author signings, and cheer her on at Battle of the Books tournaments. Our son has Asperger’s and asked to be homeschooled. Teaching him and seeing him make friends was a blessing. We also cheered him on showing llamas at the state fair and playing Yu Gi Oh tournaments.
What would you do with $20,000?We now own a farm together. We grow organic, chemical-free produce. We would use the money to bring more products and services to our customers.
