We’re a great couple because we’ve fought hard for love, recovery, and family and we never give up on each other.
We would like to thank you for supporting Matthew and Kimberly in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
What started as just a simple “excuse me” and a touch turned into something we never expected a love that gave both of us hope again. We met on our recovery journeys, both fighting to heal and rebuild. In each other, we found strength, understanding, and a reason to keep moving forward. Our bond grew from small moments into something real and lasting. Together, we’ve faced challenges, supported each other’s growth, and built a love rooted in trust, resilience, and second chances.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?One of my favorite memories with my husband is when we bought our first puppy together. He looked at me and said, “I don’t think he’s spunky enough!” but that little pup ended up becoming his best friend. It was such a simple moment, but it meant so much the start of building our life, one piece at a time.
What would you do with $20,000?If we had the opportunity, we would use it as a down payment on our first home and to pay off some of the debt we’ve been working so hard to clear. It would be such a huge step forward for us building a stable home for our family and continuing this journey we’ve been on together. We’ve come so far already, and this would bring us that much closer to the life we’ve been fighting for.
