We met playing in a band in NC 10 years ago and became best friends before falling in love 2 years later. Since then, we’ve turned life into one giant adventure: globe-trekking across the country, betting on turtle races for charity in Los Angeles, “walking on water” at a frozen pond in West Virginia, and ghost hunting in haunted places like the Lawson Family Murder General Store in Madison, NC. Our biggest adventure yet? Spontaneously getting married by Elvis in Las Vegas last November.

Hands down, the day we spontaneously decided to get married by Elvis in Las Vegas last Thanksgiving. We’ve had awesome times together but nothing topped giggling in a tiny chapel, Elvis serenading us, and realizing we were starting our biggest adventure yet. It was weird, wonderful, and so us!

We’d have an ultimate adventure! First, we’d head to Scotland to trace Matt’s family roots, then hop over to Ireland to celebrate my birthday on St. Patrick’s Day in true Irish style. We’d go dog sledding in Alaska (because why not?), & we’d save a bit to take my middle school students in the Adventure Club on a local adventure—showing them that the world is big, beautiful, and meant to be explored!
