Our love is simple. Im at peace when I'm beside him and I think as a couple we bring that same feeling to our friends and loved ones.
We would like to thank you for supporting Matt and Marissa in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
It all started with a photo of me sent in Matt’s best friend group chat, followed by some mild peer pressure, and finally an awkward but cute insta DM. I like to think that the universe was pulling strings when that photo of me popped up on his friend’s explore page. Our first date spot was where he later asked me to be his gf. He gave me a small gold ring that he found in the parking lot. That ring only fit on my ring finger so for the past four years I’ve worn it on my pinky with a spacer.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Spending a “perfect” Sunday together. Since I work every other weekend as a nurse, we take advantage of all the weekends I have off. Going on a long walk, a swim at the pool, doing some gardening, and cooking a nice meal together. Very mundane activities but special because we cherish that time together.
What would you do with $20,000?About three months ago, Matt started asking me about engagement rings. I have this gut feeling that he’ll propose on our Japan trip in August! If we do get engaged this year, the money would go towards an intimate wedding in Austin with all our closest friends and family. We are also in process of saving up to move back to Austin and be closer to my family. This money would help us have our dream wedding without setting us back from our reaching our goal of moving to Austin.
