Connect How did your love story begin?

While on deployment last year, I got close to her younger brother on ship with me. While sharing family photos one day I remember asking: “Woahhh who is that?”. To which he responded “my sister”. Through an initial 6 hour time difference and me (admittedly) getting left on read a lot. Eventually we started having really good conversation. After a lot of texts and calls we finally met upon our return and the rest is history!

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

I’d say my favorite memory was honestly meeting for the first time almost a year ago. We clicked almost instantaneously after we were able to call for the first time while I was still deployed and talking to each other became part of our daily routine. I was anxious meeting in person for the first time in worries that we wouldn’t be in fluid in person as it was over the phone. Needless to say, there hasn’t been a single dull moment with us since and I love every second we get to spend together.

What would you do with $20,000?

She lives in NJ and just finished nursing school with her RN and I am stationed on Camp Lejeune in NC. We visit each other about once or twice a month when feasible. She just accepted a job offer at a hospital here in NC which we are extremely excited to finally end the long distance. The $20,000 would be a great help in helping us get our footing in our new lives together and maybe a celebratory get away! She is also too beautiful to not have a ring on her finger some time soon :)
