Connect How did your love story begin?

We knew each other in high school and were in marching band together. He played the drums and I was in the color guard. We even had a Philosophy class together senior year where I sat in front of him. But it was not until our final senior band trip to New Orleans that he asked me out on a date. From that day, we kept texting and talking. Our first date was to a sushi restaurant and we both didn’t want to date to end, so we just kept going to different grocery stores until my curfew.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our first ever camping trip together to Ocean City, Maryland after only dating a few months. Even though it was rollercoaster where I got sunburnt, we couldn’t get a single campfire started, and slept in the world’s worst tent, we enjoyed every single second spending with each other. We meshed well, communicated, and easily overcame every obstacle encountered.

What would you do with $20,000?

While we love living in our apartment and being engaged, we really want to save up to have a nice wedding and buy a house. We want to take the next steps in our lives to settle down and have that security. We really want to have not just a house but a home that is our own. As well as have a nice wedding for us to celebrate our love with all of our friends and family. $20,000 would really help us on a down payment for a house and booking a venue for our wedding.
