She was the lead in her school musical, I was a stranger who needed a date to prom. One year later we’re happily in love
We would like to thank you for supporting Mason and Elise in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
My little brother and her little sister are best friends, so Elise’s sister invited him to see her in the school’s production of The Little Mermaid. He invited me to come along with him, and as soon as the curtains opened I was starstruck. My prom was in two weeks and I didn’t have a date, so I decided to go up to Ariel and open with the line “I know you don’t know me, but would you like to go to prom with me?” The rest is history.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? The night before I left for college was filled with many emotions. We knew this would be an obstacle and were both grasping at something to cling to as we were pulled away. We were sitting on my car and she was telling me about her fears of being in a semi-long-distance relationship. I looked her in the eyes and told her that I loved her. We then played a song from the car radio and danced under the stars- a full circle moment as our story began with prom.
What would you do with $20,000?We would use the $20,000 to get married. We are both in college getting our bachelor’s degrees, and know that we can’t get married until we have financial stability. The $20,000 would be the cushion we need in order to finally start our lives together.
