You decide who wins $20,000 and appears in Variety magazine as America’s Favorite Couple
We met January 4, 1960 at the corner of fifth and Broadway in San Diego. We were both in the Navy. I wasn’t quite as an enamored with him as he was with me. I did avoid him for 3 weeks. He was persistent, two weeks later I agreed to marry him, engaged on Valentine’s Day, married June 4 1960
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? The night we met, so cute dressed head to toe in baby blue attracted to him at the same time I wanted nothing to do with him. I could tell he liked me a lot. I knew I would never see him again so I got out of the car in the headlights I fluffed my hair, with a big smile, smoothed my purple angora sweater and tripped and fell into the bushes. I held my breath and prayed If only he would just go away. God had a plan. The indention on my left shin palpable today reminds me of the night we met.
What would you do with $20,000?We would take our four daughters, five grandchildren and spouses, six great grands on a family cruise. The remainder would go to the grandchildren to ease their financial burdens. We would celebrate our unique love and thank God for He is the center of our partnership.
