We have truly loved, comforted, and cared for each other since we said “I do”. We still hold hands, kiss goodbye, and kiss good night.
We would like to thank you for supporting Mary and Steve in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
It all started in 1972 when Steve was playing outfield for the local softball team. After games we hung out with the team. We soon discovered that we were happiest when we were just us, together. Our first date was dinner and a movie. I gave up Rolling Stones tickets to go on this date. We have “our song”; we turn it up and sing it loud when it comes on the radio today.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? In 2021 Steve and I embarked on our Magnificent Roadtrip West. We marveled at all the wonders of the Tetons, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Yellowstone, and Mount Rushmore. The park I looked forward to the most was the Grand Canyon. It has always been on my Bucket List. We shared it’s awe together for the first time on my 70th birthday. It’s a moment that is forever etched in my memory.
What would you do with $20,000?We would use it mainly for travel. We want to spend our silver years seeing and experiencing as much of our magnificent country as we can. We still have the upper midwest and northeast US waiting for discovery.
