How did your love story begin?

Many moons ago! I was 16 he was 20. Too young to know better! But, we persevered! I had our daughter Marsha at 17. We married soon after. I finished high school, graduated and then we fell in love more by having our first son Eugene, “Geno” two years later. We started our own small business trucking company and continued to bring two more children, Rachel & Marcos into our family. Now we’ve been married 47 years this past June. We have 7 grandkids and three great grandchildren! We’re blessed!

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

When we were able to be married by the church (Catholic). See, I was so young, actually, we both were that we got married by the Justice of the peace. Years later we celebrated by renewing our wedding vows with our kids and two of our grandkids at the time. It was a true blessing. Both our parents were still alive to witness this special day as well as both our families and friends. It was a fun day with lots of reminiscing.

What would you do with $20,000?

Oh boy,this would be a gracious blessing. We’d save some. We’d go on a nice vacation! A well deserved one. Maybe a cruise! We’ve both worked hard all our lives. I’m still working. Mark’s retired, lucky guy! Anyhow, we’ve done for everyone first and put us second. But it’s okay. It’s called life and we’re still here and still together, that’s what matters.
